John Roselli, aka "Joe" or "Johnny", was advised by the Los Angeles Office to have not resided at his apartment in Los Angeles since June 1963. He had been registered at the Desert Inn Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, but had not been observed there for two days.

On August 23, 1963, Roselli gave his address as 3669 Old Shell Road, Mobile, Alabama, to the Jesuit Priest from Spring Hill College, Mobile. On August 28, 1963, he received a telephone call at the Desert Inn Hotel from Miss A. Lowelli, who had a telephone number of HO 6-3411 in Hollywood, California.

On September 1, 1963, it was reported that Roselli was still registered at the Desert Inn Hotel, but had not been observed there for two days. On August 22-25, 1963, Maurice Friedman and a large party were registered at the Half Moon Inn in San Diego, California, with Roselli present.

On September 1, 1963, it was reported that Ben Wholstader showed information about Roselli and Jack Ruby at the Los Angeles International Film Festival.
