1 The sight hood sn2ps Ovct tho exIst rear sIgbt on
tbe 7.62 Belgium (FAL) rifle_ It is designed to raise tbe rear
SIght to compensate for the wore curving trajectory of the under-
loaded anmunItion and is an open sight for increased night sighting
Capability.
2 , The sight hood 1s oriented MIth the three screws facing
the nuzz le end of the rifle (See attached drawings) Press
down on the hood until the ba 11 detent snaps into the peep hole
3 _ The slot for the existing rear sight is made tight
50 that the hood will fit firmly in Place If It fails to fit,
ffle the existing rear sight as necessary _ If tho sight fits
the slot but is difficult to snap on and off , or 1s too Ioose ,
adjust the ball detent by turning tbe center set screw on the
51ght hood_
4 _ The weapon must be zeroed on a known distance fIring
range to determine the sight settings and proper sight picture
for standard and undorloaded ammunItIon when usIng tho hood
Te adjustments possible are tbose already on tho rifle
(That is elevation control usIng the graduated ramp and windage
control by adjustment of the two locking screws at the base Of
tbe existing rear Slght dovetail.)
NOTB: It is very important to hold the rifle the sade Fay eacb
tine so tbat the relation of tbe eye to the rear sight
remaIns constant_ The user pust deterine his o5 zero
for each rifle and hood conbination and maxinut effective
range for each ammunition type .
