14-Q0000 104-10181-10117/ 2025 RELEASE UNDER THE PRESIDENT JOHN F_ KENNEDY ASSASSINATION RECORDS ACT OF 1992
Do
8 March 1967
MEMORANDUM FOR THE RECORD
SUBJECT: Poggible DRE Animus Towardo Preeident Kennedy
1 Thi memorandum makes record of a recollection
which hag been brought to mind in recent week8 since my returo
from Yugoslavia in late November 1966.
2: In Spring 1961_ upon returning {rom Berlin [ wat
a88igned to JMWAVE. One *of the case8 on which I worked (rom
then until shortly before my reassignment to Headquartero {n
late aummer 1963 concerned funding of oversea8 elements o
the DRE (Student Revolutionary Directorate) which had ite main
office in Miami (the cabe officer for this group dur this
Period was Mr . Ro88 CROZIER, since regigned).
3_ Ibelieve that it i8 thie group, the DRE, which hag been
referred to in invegtigations into the President'g a8ga88ination
a9 the Cuban Student Directorate , whose New Orleana rcprescn-
tative is gaid to have had contactg with OSWALD.
4_ [have a88umed that, 8ince the time [wab transferred
[rom Miami and scheduled for my next a9signment a9 EoB]2+
i0EZagreb] officers better and
more recently informed than mygekf
have probably exarined in detail all aspects of the DRE involve -
ment with OSWALD, in order to rule out any glight poggibility
that compromise % the CLA spongorship of this organization
might in any way embarra88 the Agency. Recent news reports of
investigationg centering iu New Orleans on the a88a88ination have
once again brought to mind the concern Ifelt in November [963,
by which time, however, I was far removed [rom current knowledge
of the operation.

88 occasional signs O anger Or O contempt or o discouragement,
might have becn translated into a wish for revenge_ may be better
known t0 other Ollicere who dealt with thie group after the summer
