The four American deserters from the USS Intrepid were identified as being in contact with or cooperating with BERRIEN, a Japanese anti-war organization. They were likely smuggled out of Japan on November 12th or 13th, after a press conference was held by Professor Brian Young, who had attempted to persuade them to return to their ship.
